Renewable Energy Mix
In accordance with national energy strategies—including the Energy Efficiency Plan 2015–2036 (EEP2015), the Power Development Plan (PDP), the Alternative Energy Development Plan 2015–2036 (AEDP2015), and the Energy Industry Act B.E. 2550 (2007) — the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) has undertaken multiple initiatives to promote the integration of renewable energy into the national electricity supply.
These initiatives aim to mitigate climate change and reduce reliance on fossil fuels—particularly those oil that are imported.
PEA offers facilitation services for private energy producers to submit applications for electricity generation using renewable and alternative energy technologies, including:
- Combined Heat and Power (CHP)
- Solar photovoltaic systems
- Hydropower
- Biomass
- Wind energy
- Biogas
- Waste-to-energy conversion systems

Furthermore, PEA facilitates grid interconnection applications for electricity producers through the following mechanisms:
- Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), under the Very Small Power Producer (VSPP)
- Self-consumption, targeting Prosumer-based systems
These measures are designed to decrease dependency on centralized electricity supply, enhance energy sustainability, and support national renewable energy objectives.
