Distribution Transformer Management System (DTMS)

Background

  • Problems with using distribution transformers that are not suitable for the amount of electricity used in the area, such as Overload, Underutilization
  • Issues in risk assessment and service life of distribution transformers including maintenance plan
  • The push from the private sector to bring the TLM system into use
  • The trend of increasing EVs and solar rooftops from government policy support

DTMS Platform
DTMS Platform

A central hub for connecting transformer monitoring devices, operating on a cloud computing platform.

Web Application
Web Application

Displayed through a dashboard web application, showing real-time electrical energy values and transformer temperatures in the distribution system, along with analysis and summary reports of transformer usage.

Features of the DTMS Dashboard

locations
  • Displays the locations of distribution transformers equipped with DTM devices
  • Provides alerts for abnormal conditions in distribution transformer power supply, such as power outages, overvoltage, and undervoltage
Graphical display
  • Graphical display of measurement values over time, including Apparent Power (kVA), Active Power (kW), Voltage, Load Current, Temperature, and Energy Consumption (kWh), with historical data access
  • Alerts for improper load distribution on distribution transformers, such as Overloading and Current Unbalance
Heat map
  • Heat map showing the load distribution of transformers over specific time intervals, displaying the loading performance as a percentage of rated capacity per phase
Display of real-time
  • Display of real-time measurement values of power distribution from distribution transformers

Distribution Transformer Monitoring Analysis Dashboard (DTMA)

Dashboard 1
Dashboard 2

Features of the DTMA Dashboard

dtma feature 1

  • Summarize the overall power distribution of all transformers in the distribution system that are equipped with DTM in a simple format. Users can filter by area, transformer, and time period of interest

dtma feature 2

  • Rank the risk of transformers based on load distribution to facilitate planning for transformer improvements and repairs

dtma feature 3

  • Display analysis of load distribution, load quality, and the proportion of time transformers provide inadequate load. The analysis is shown both in total and per-phase.

Transformer Power Optimizer (TPO)

Pilot Project in Pattaya City, Chonburi Province

Pilot Project in Pattaya City

This system was developed to address power quality issues in the low-voltage distribution network. The core functionality of the Transformer Power Optimizer utilizes power electronics technology to mitigate current imbalance problems occurring at distribution transformers.

Main Function
  • Three-phase load imbalance compensation
  • Reactive power compensation
  • Filter harmonics
  • Stabilize the receiving terminal voltage
  • Suppress voltage fluctuation and flicker
Main Function

Integrated TPO with modular design and improved power quality

The TPO, built on state-of-the-art technology, has the latest high efficiency bidirectional converter technology, ensure efficiency and a long lifetime of the imbalance solution. PQTPO has the working modes such as imbalance priority, imbalance only, reactive priority, reactive only, harmonic priority, harmonic only.
