Smart Meter Pilot Project in Pattaya City, Chonburi Province
Thailand is progressing toward becoming a Smart City, with the objective of enhancing the quality of life for its citizens in alignment with the Thailand 4.0 initiative. Pattaya has been identified as one of the key cities to be developed into a Smart City.
In support of this vision, the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) has initiated a development project under the PEA 4.0 policy, focusing on strengthening the stability of the electrical system and advancing ICT infrastructure to establish an efficient Smart Grid capable of supporting emerging technologies.
Smart Meter Pilot Project in Pattaya City, Chonburi Province, is part of PEA’s broader Smart Grid initiative. It involves the implementation of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) that connects electricity users to the grid through the installation of smart meters.
Smart Meters are the core equipment installed for electricity users. These devices are directly connected to PEA’s centralized control system and provide real-time electricity usage data for each household, enabling more efficient power management and system monitoring.
