PEA and Major host an exhibition in Honour of His Majesty the King and release a film accompanying Thai royal anthem

On the auspicious occasion of the Coronation of King Rama X, Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) has therefore joined forces with Major Cineplex Group to organise an honorary exhibition and short film entitled “Translating the Royal Anthem” which accompanies the Thai royal anthem during 10-12 May 2019, 10 am-10 pm, at ICON CINECONIC, 6th floor, ICONSIAM.

PEA Governer, Sompong Preeprem, said it is crucial for Thai people to express their loyalty to the King on the auspicious occasion of the coronation. PEA and Major Cineplex Group are therefore hosting an honorary exhibition entitled ‘The light in the heart of Thai people’ depicting His Majesty’s royal duties and diligence in advancing the country. The photos used are exclusively permitted to be displayed by His Majesty. The exhibition includes the background and deep meaning of the Thai royal anthem. PEA would like to extend an invitation to all Thai people to visit the exhibitions at every Major cinema nationwide.

Major Cineplex Group’s Chief Media Officer, Surachet Asawaruenganant, said Major Cineplex Group and PEA consider this a historic moment for Thailand and a period of exaltation for Thai people. This is why we have jointly arranged this exhibition. Wanpen Sentrakul, the venerable expert on the Thai language, has given us the honour of interpreting a short film accompanying the Thai royal anthem in a way that expresses deep appreciation towards His Majesty. Everyone can see the film at all 156 Major cinemas starting Thursday 9 May 2019.

The exhibition is adorned with HM the King’s image accompanied with a well-wishing book that visitors can sign. The exhibition is divided into three zones : His Majesty’s multifarious royal duties , the background of the Thai royal anthem, and detailed interpretation of the anthem.

On Friday 10 May, Kittinan “Kit” Shinsamran and Wichayanee “Gam” Pliaklin performed “Siaminthra Raja Maha Vajiralongkorn”, “The Light of His Prestige” and “The Impossible Dream” and shared their expressions of gratitude at having the opportunity to sing the songs. Another session will be devoted to a short talk by Wanpen, interpreter of the royal anthem. The show concluded with a screening of the short film “Translating the Royal Anthem” and the harmonious utterance of “Long Live the King” echoing through the ICON CINECONIC.
